The crown, replaces a previous crown used by Edward the Confessor, which in 1649 was melted into the new crown. The first king to be crowned with the new crown was Charles II.

The frame of the St. Edward crown is made of solid gold and is set with rubies, sapphires, garnets, topaz and tourmaline. In addition, there are four crosses on the crown and the inside is lined with purple velvet.

The coronation ceremony of Charles III will take place on May 6 in Westminster Abbey. During his tenure, the King will wear the Imperial State Crown and not the St. Edward’s Crown, which will continue to be used as an item in the Tower of London after the coronation.

Meanwhile, the British kingdom is dealing with a renewed saga of claims from Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle. A special docu that will air on Netflix in the coming week and a memoir that Prince Harry will publish early next year are supposed to contain criticism of the royal family and according to British sources, this is a “declaration of war” on their part.

The trailer for the “Harry and Meghan” docu on Netflix:

According to a royal expert quoted in the British media over the weekend, King Charles III marked a red line that if his son Prince Harry crossed it – he would have no way back. According to the expert, the red line marked by the king is an attack on his wife – Camila.

The expert, Phil Dampier, said the king would “close the door” on the prince if the new 416-page book attacked Camilla. “He is determined to stand by his son, but he has red lines.”
