The Olympic team continues its training on the training fields in the Sports City in Basra Governorate, as part of its preparations for the AFC U-23 Cup finals that qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

A statement from the media channel of the Football Association, which was received by the (INA), stated that “our Olympic team participated in the second training unit in Basra in the presence of all the players after the joining of the professionals Ali Al-Moussawi, Bland Azad and Roman Dolashti.”
He added, “The training took place in the presence of the President of the Iraqi Football Federation, Adnan Darjal, the Second Vice President of the Federation, Younis Mahmoud, and members of the Federation, Ghanem Uraibi and Ahmed Al-Musawi.”
The statement quoted Federation member Ghanem Uraibi as saying, “The Basra camp is an important stop for the team before going to Qatar and participating in the Asian Championship,” adding that the Football Association and the Olympic Committee have provided their absolute support throughout the past and current period in order to prepare ideally in order to compete in the Asian Championship and ensure one Qualifying positions for the Paris Olympics.
