‘Police behaved disrespectfully’; Former DGP R Sreelekha accused DGP R. Sreelekha

by time news

Thiruvananthapuram: Former DGP R Sreelekha has accused the police of misbehaving with him after the DGP directed him at a high-level meeting to treat the people with dignity. Sreelekha made the allegation against Shankhumukham Assistant Commissioner through Facebook.

The Assistant Commissioner was called to look into the matter when the young woman, who was a victim of domestic violence, called and complained. The woman complained that she had a bad experience at the Valiyathura police station and the women’s cell and that the police had threatened to take her child out of her husband’s house. When Shankhumukham called the ACP on the phone to tell him about this, Sreelekha alleged in the post that the ACP had kidnapped him. The ACP told him to support police officers and not to call them with such fabrications.

He called the ADGP in charge of law and order but he did not pick up the phone. If this is how the Assistant Commissioner treats a former DGP, how will he treat the general public? Sreelekha also asks which policeman will take the DGP’s recommendation to behave with dignity at face value.
