Taking advantage of an exceptionally mild autumn, some holidaymakers are packing their bags all over France, prolonging the summer feeling.
At Mont-Saint-Michel (Manche), it is not the crowds of August, around 30,000 visitors, but this is not to displease tourists, who can enjoy the building: “We can take the time”, explains a tourist. In Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes), on the Côte d’Azur, a generous mercury displays 25 degrees. Enough to attract foreign holidaymakers, such as a Dutch couple, taking a bike ride, national tradition obliges. If the foreigners are numerous, the French are more discreet, in particular because of the shortage of fuels.
In Palavas-les-Flots (Hérault), tourists did not come en masse but it was the locals who took advantage of the good weather. Surfers have a field day on the beaches relieved of the summer hustle and bustle. Tourists are nevertheless expected in the middle of next week, while the weather should be mild in the coming days.
