Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed that Ukrainian forces attempted to attack Russian territory with the participation of more than 2.5 thousand personnel and 35 tanks, noting that they did not achieve success anywhere and suffered heavy losses.

During his meeting with members of the Russian Security Council, Putin said, “The regime in Kiev has planned and is trying to carry out a number of armed actions before the elections in Russia.”

He added that “the enemy forces and means that attempted to penetrate Russian territory numbered more than 2.5 thousand personnel, 35 tanks and about 40 armored vehicles,” noting that “the Ukrainian forces that attacked the territory of the Russian Federation fled after suffering losses.”

The Russian President continued: “A whole series of sabotage and terrorist attacks were carried out, 4 in Belgorod and one on several axes in Kursk, with the aim of achieving a breakthrough and consolidation on Russian territory,” stressing that “the enemy forces did not achieve any success on any of the axes, as they were carried out.” Responding to these attacks and forcing the forces to withdraw, or rather they fled with heavy losses.”

Putin stressed that “attacks by Ukrainian forces on the territory of the Russian Federation will not go unpunished,” indicating that “the Kiev regime will not be able to terrorize the Russian people with sabotage attacks on the border areas and that the Russians will respond to these actions with greater unity.”
