Qualcomm (Qualcomm), according to A teaser she posted on her Weibo account, will launch a new Snapdragon processor next week. “The spring dragon raises its head, and everything is reborn. The new flagship of Snapdragon is about to see the light. Let’s welcome the new year and the new era. On March 18,” reads the teaser, which refers to the beginning of the Year of the Dragon according to Chinese tradition.
The teaser does not mention the processor that will be announced, but as far as is known it is a slightly weaker version of the company’s current flagship processor, and it will be called Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 – although there were estimates that it will be called Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Lite. It will offer a Cortex-X4 core at 3.01 GHz, four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.61 GHz, three Cortex-A520 cores at 1.84 GHz, compared to 3.3 GHz, 3.15 GHz and 2.96 GHz respectively inSnapdragon 8 Gen 3.
In addition, Qualcomm will equip the new processor with the Adreno 735 graphics chip, compared to Adreno 750 in the processor it launched last October.
One of the first phones to be equipped with a reduced power processor will come from Realme. A model of the company numbered as RMX3851, with 16 gigabytes of working memory, has already appeared on several test sites. Another phone expected to arrive with the new processor is probably Xiaomi’s Poco F6.
