jpnn.comBOGOR – The Directorate of Economic, Social and Cultural Resilience, Directorate General of Politics and Public Government (PUM) of the Ministry of Home Affairs held the activity “Social Communication on Strategic Issues in the Economic, Social and Cultural Sector” at the Rizen Padjadjaran Hotel, Bogor City, West Java, Thursday ( 7/3).

Acting Director of Social and Cultural Economic Resilience, Directorate General of Politics and PUM Aang Witarsa ​​Rofik underlined several strategic issues in the economic, social and cultural fields.

One of them is the importance of strengthening religious moderation to create a just and friendly country for all Indonesian citizens to live a harmonious, peaceful and prosperous religious life.

Apart from that, Aang Witarsa ​​emphasized that special attention is aimed at preventing the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics, as well as handling social, community and arts and culture resilience.

“There is a need to anticipate the polarization of society after the 2024 elections which could trigger social conflict due to high negative sensitivity in various interactions, both directly and in cyberspace,” said Aang Witarsa.

“In this context, religious moderation is the key in building an attitude of tolerance and respect for differences in beliefs to prevent wider conflict,” he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Director General of Politics and General Government of the Ministry of Home Affairs Togap Simanungsong said there were various challenges faced by Indonesian society.

Togap emphasized the importance of awareness of the potential for post-election social conflict and anticipation of potential conflict in the simultaneous regional elections in October 2024.
