MOSCOW: Alexei Polishchuk, director of the Commonwealth of Independent States under the Russian Foreign Ministry, has said that special military operations in Ukraine will end once Russia’s goals are achieved.

His response came in an interview with a Russian news agency. He said the occupation was aimed at protecting the people of the Donbass and eliminating the threat posed to Russia by NATO countries.

Russia’s special military operation will end when the targets are met, Polish said. He added that the military action was progressing as planned and that Russia would achieve all its goals.

The Russian occupation of Ukraine begins on February 24. Russia is currently focusing on the eastern region of Donbos.
