Tragedy strikes when 40 Indian medical students walk 8 km as Russia wars war on Ukraine.

Russia, its neighbor, has been launching a barrage of bombs and missiles at Ukraine since yesterday in protest of its accession to the NATO bloc. Due to the tense situation in Ukraine, many foreigners, including those from India and Britain, are leaving Ukraine.

Russia’s attack on Ukraine has forced Indians, including students staying there, to flee safely. Already 4,000 people have been rescued, and more than 16,000 are still said to be at risk.

The Ukrainian government has also suspended air traffic. As it was not possible to leave the country by air, the Central Government decided to deport Indians safely across the land borders of neighboring Ukraine and has already spoken with countries including Romania, Hungary and Slovakia.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs had issued guidelines in this regard to Indians in Ukraine. In this situation, the incident in which 40 Indian medical students walked 8 km has caused tragedy. The city of Lviv, on the border with Ukraine, is located 70 kilometers from Poland. There are many Indian students studying at the Daynlo Halytsky Medical University.
