Scientists from the Technical University of Denmark have developed an algorithm that can predict human life expectancy with an accuracy of 78%. The results of the study were published in Nature Computational Science, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.

Scientists used data from more than six million Danes to develop a new artificial intelligence algorithm. Some of the data was taken from various archives and medical records. The researchers also collected information about the health, date of birth, place of residence, marital status and profession of the volunteers who agreed to take part in the study.

Then the obtained facts were incorporated into a machine algorithm, which analyzed this information, looking for relationships and trying to predict further developments based on previous experience. The neural network was able to predict the financial income and health status of people throughout their lives. In addition, the algorithm was able to estimate the likelihood of a person dying at a given time with an accuracy of 78%. This was shown by further observations of people who took part in the study.

Scientists believe that this technique can be used to reduce the risk of people dying prematurely and develop individual strategies for improving health.
