According to his information OASAthe temporary shutdown of the Maniatika Metro station begins as part of the gradual implementation of the project for the installation of new entrance/exit gates, AMEK (Automated Card and Ticket Issuing Machines) and Management Centers, while it concerns six stations of the extension of line 3 “Agia Varvara”, “Korydallos”, “Nicaia”, “Maniatika”, “Piraeus”, “Municipal Theatre”.
The new gates and the AMEK which will be installed and put into operation in the coming months are part of the general framework of OSA actions that are implemented to improve the quality of the transportation services provided.
How will the passenger public be served?
In order to serve passengers due to the shutdown of the “Maniatika” station, OASA proceeded with modifications of the route passing through this station, bus line 909 AGIOS VASILIOS-AGIAS SOFIA-KRATIKO NICAIASso that it passes through the Nikaia Station in both directions and transfers the passengers of the area.
At the same time, from Maniatika Stationpassengers will be able to be served in both directions from the existing 814 lines SCHISTO-KARAVAS-PIRAEUS, 825 NAPLES-AGIOS ANTONIOS-PIRAEUS B as well as from the bus line 824 NAPOLI-AGIOS ANTONIOS-PIRAEUS A in the direction of Piraeus.
In addition, an extension of its opening hours has been foreseen bus line 909:
From Monday 11/3 when the “Maniatika” station will operate normally again, passengers will use the equipment that was already there (validation and vending machines), installed in new seats.
