«Transmashholding”started mass production of a new model of the Ivolga 4.0 electric train. About it informed Director General of Transmashholding Kirill Lipa in an interview with TASS.
“That [серийное производство] launched,” he said. Lipa noted that the new model was created in cooperation with the Moscow government.
Ivolga 4.0 was presented at the PRO//Dvizhenie.Expo International Railway Salon. In the cars of the electric train, the number of doors was increased to three (with the exception of the head cars). According to TASS, 97% of the components of the model are produced in Russia. “Ivolga 4.0” can accelerate up to 160 km/h, one electric train can carry up to 646 people.
In May, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin informedthat the new Orioles will run on the MCD-3 and MCD-4 diameters. According to him, until 2025, the Moscow authorities plan to purchase 95 Ivolga trains. The fourth-generation model will be launched at the MCD-4 at the end of 2023 – the beginning of 2024. It is planned to completely upgrade the rolling stock in the next year and a half, Sobyanin specified.
