(Montreal) Once again gunshots rang out in the streets of Montreal, this time while the majority of people were still in bed.

A call to 911 around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning alerted the police to several gunshots heard near the intersection of Boulevard Crémazie and 14e avenue in the Saint-Michel district.

“When the police arrived on the scene, they located two vehicles parked on the 14e avenue with projectile impacts, ”said agent Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

A security perimeter has been erected in the area to protect the scene. In particular, a forensic identification technician and the SPVM dog unit were called to the scene to search for clues or evidence.

“There are no victims and no suspects,” said agent Chèvrefils.

The SPVM investigation is continuing.
