Last March 21, Singer Bangladesh Limited in collaboration with Archelik, the flagship company of Turkey’s Koch Group, unveiled its concept of ‘Transform for Growth’ or ‘Transformation for the purpose of development’ through a press conference.

As part of the new venture, Singer will make several changes, including a concept store unique in the consumer durables industry, the relocation of its headquarters to a world-class workplace, and the opening of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Singer Bangladesh aims to bring the global expertise of Koch Group and Archelik and Turkish quality to Bangladesh and enhance the consumer experience, which reiterates Singer Bangladesh’s commitment to excellence.

Commenting on Singer’s call for change, Archelic Chief Commercial Officer Jemal Jan Dincher said Singer Bangladesh has a history of 118 years and Singer is a pioneer in the consumer durables industry in the country. Our concept store takes inspiration from the award-winning Archelik store design in Istanbul, Turkey. We are trying to apply what we have learned from Turkey in business retail and commercial transformation to Bangladesh and I am honored to be associated with this new journey in Bangladesh. We aim to increase the productivity of Singer Bangladesh and make Bangladesh a center of South Asia in the medium and long term. The store has special experience zones to showcase a variety of products under the Singer and Beko brands. Beko is one of the top 3 brands in Europe. The store’s exceptional retail experience; It gives an opportunity to check the product before purchasing it. The store houses a shop-in-shop of Archelik’s global brand Beko for the first time. Singer’s new concept store design will set a new standard for the retail market in Bangladesh as well as redefine the traditional retail business model and ensure a world-class retail experience for shoppers. Singer will open more Singer Beko concept stores in major cities across the country and the design will be adopted in Singer outlets nationwide in 2024.

Singer Bangladesh is shifting its corporate headquarters to Gulshan II in Dhaka. Designed by Turkish architects, this state-of-the-art office will provide employees with world-class workspace and amenities. The new office will encourage employee cohesion, collaboration, creativity and innovative thinking. The new head office will embody Singer Bangladesh’s progressive ethos and lay the foundation for continued success.

The conference announced that Singer Bangladesh is ready to start production at its new factory. Archelik’s $78 million investment in the new factory will create more than 4,000 jobs and further the company’s commitment to local manufacturing. Singer Bangladesh aims to produce more than 90 percent of its products domestically, reduce dependence on imports and build a strong local supplier ecosystem. The Singer manufacturing plant is being built as per the Lead Gold Standard for sustainability in the manufacturing process.
