A policeman died this evening (Thursday) in the Belgian capital Brussels in a stabbing incident and another policeman was injured. An investigator with the local police told the AP news agency that there is a suspicion that this is an attack, but the motive and circumstances of the case have not yet been officially confirmed. According to witnesses the stabber shouted “Allah Akbar” before the attack. In the Belgian newspaper “Le Sueur” it was reported by a source in the Brussels prosecutor’s office that earlier the suspect arrived at a police station and threatened the officers there.
