Washington: The New York court imposed a fine of 1.6 million dollars on the Trump Organization, the real estate company of former US President Donald Trump, in the case of tax evasion. The action followed the finding that the company had been cheating the tax authorities for 15 years. Alan Weiselberg, the company’s former chief financial officer, was recently sentenced to five months in jail in the case. The case does not implicate Trump or his family, but could have a negative impact on his 2024 presidential run.
