The boundaries of the OSAGO tariff corridor for most categories of car owners will be expanded by 26% up and down from September 13, follows from the instruction of the Bank of Russia registered by the Ministry of Justice.
For passenger cars, the range of the base rate of the tariff will be 1646-7535 rubles, for public transport the tariff boundaries will expand by 17.8% in both directions.
The Central Bank proposed to expand the CMTPL tariff corridor in June, the regulator explained the need for adjustment by “actuarial calculations that take into account current data on the cost of spare parts.” Against the backdrop of rising prices for spare parts (and the most “breakable” parts in case of accidents increased in price by an average of 28.7%, Vedomosti wrote at the time), the new tariffs will make it possible to offer drivers with lower risks more favorable conditions by increasing the cost of insurance for accidents. , noted the Central Bank.
“This will help curb the rise in prices for OSAGO, as the opportunities for differentiation will increase. According to the latest data, the situation with pricing in August has already begun to stabilize – despite the growth in payments, the average premium has decreased for the first time since the beginning of the year, ”the Central Bank commented today on the change in tariffs.
The last time the Bank of Russia expanded the tariff corridor by 10% in both directions. This led to an increase in the average OSAGO premium in 2021 by 1.85% compared to 2020.
