2021 to carry out the construction works of Meghri border checkpoint. On December 23, a tender package was placed in the electronic procurement system of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and a tender was announced. Due to the expiration of the deadline for the acceptance of bids, the bids submitted by the organizations were officially opened by the evaluation committee for the purpose of examining the complete tender packages.
The evaluation committee, which consists of representatives of SRC and other departments, will examine the complete tender packages submitted by the given organizations, their previous works and submitted price proposals.
The validity period of submitted applications is 120 days.
Let’s add that the “Meghri border checkpoint project” is implemented in accordance with the loan and grant agreement signed between the Republic of Armenia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The cost of the project is approximately 21 million euros, construction work will last 30 months.
The border checkpoint will be ultra-modern, in order to fully ensure the functions of the checkpoint, it is planned to build a two-story administrative building with a construction area of 4,000 square meters, with a 1,500 square meter solar power plant on the roof, 40,000 square meters of parking, 5 input and output power lines, and it will also be equipped with ultra-modern X-ray equipment.
The modernization of the Meghri checkpoint will speed up and facilitate service, as well as contribute to the activation of the “North-South” transport corridor, promoting transit transportation as well.
