The price of gasoline has lowered slightly this week after three consecutive months on the rise, according to data from the Petroleum Bulletin of the European Union. On average it has been placed in the 1,751 euros per liter, 0.5% less than a week ago (1,759). Despite the fact that gasoline has recovered the prices of a fortnight ago, it remains in the higher levels of the last year. On the other hand, the diesel has continued to become more expensive and it has already accumulated thirteen weeks of rising prices. During the last seven days it has climbed up to the 1,687 euros per liter, up 0.11% from the previous update (1,685). This is the highest level since the end of January. Regarding the beginning of summer, the price of gasoline accumulate a 10% increase and diesel by 17.4%.

According to the data published this Thursday, during the last week filling an average tank of 55 liters of petrol has cost around 96 euros and diesel around 92 euros.

The rise in prices in recent weeks is attributed to the rise in the price of a barrel of Brent, the reference type of oil in Europe.
