Description

The Valladolid Science Museum has hosted the presentation of the Planetarium program ‘Dinosaurs. A story of survival’, in an act attended by the Councilor for Education, Childhood, Youth and Equality, María Victoria Soto, and the director of the museum center, Inés Rodríguez Hidalgo.

In this thirty-minute show, science and cinema come together in a new production that has already become a reference in the international community of planetariums and science museums.

‘Dinosaurs. A Survival Story’ tells the story of Celeste, a girl who, like almost all children, is fascinated by dinosaurs. She is preparing to talk in class about her extinction when Moon, a magical character full of wisdom, asks her a question: what if I told you that there are still dinosaurs among us?

Celeste will accompany Moon on a journey through time. An exciting adventure that will take them to visit Earth in a very, very remote past. You will see the fascinating transformations these animals underwent over millions of years, creating giant creatures, armored beings and super predators, until the day a huge impact caused a mass extinction on Earth. But not all is lost. Celeste will discover the key to her survival.

Made in fulldome format, probably one of the most technically complex cinematographic disciplines, ‘Dinosaurs, a survival story’ is a new gem produced by Render Área, the Madrid studio of geologist, naturalist and filmmaker Javier Bollaín. This Spanish company is one of the few worldwide specialized in this type of audiovisual production.

In addition, it has had the participation of the animation studio Monigotes Estudio 2.0, the collaboration of the Ministry of Science and Innovation through the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) and the participation of the main planetariums at a national level such as the Planetarium in Pamplona, the Science Park in Granada, or the Cosmocaixa Park in Barcelona.

This interesting proposal, is aimed at all audiences and recommended for ages 7 and up, will allow the little ones to understand some of the mysteries of the evolution of life and will be part of the Planetarium programming from February 17.
