Theft of Telegram accounts became more frequent during the March holidays

On the pre-holidays and holidays of March 6–10, cases of hacking of Telegram accounts with a similar scenario became more frequent. Fraudsters created groups of several dozen people in the messenger on behalf of a common contact. A message was circulated in these groups asking people to vote for the chat organizer in the competition, for which they had to follow a link. If the link was followed by a user who did not have two-factor authentication enabled, the scammers gained access to his account, and the account owner was kicked out of the application.
