Kate Middleton Announces She Has Cancer

Of all the theories and rumors that were circulating, the worst is confirmed. Kate Middleton announced this Friday afternoon in an official video that she is in the early stages of her cancer treatment. Here is the full statement from the Princess of Wales from Kensington Palace:

“I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all the wonderful messages of support and understanding while I recovered from surgery. It has been an incredibly difficult couple of months for our entire family, but I have had a fantastic medical team who have looked after me very well, which I am very grateful for.

In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time my condition was thought to be non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found that there was cancer. Therefore, my medical team recommended that I undergo preventive chemotherapy treatment and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.

Of course, this was a huge shock, and William and I have been doing our best to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery to be able to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be okay.”

“I also think of all those lives that have been affected by cancer. To all who are facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. “You are not alone”

These words put an end to all speculation. This morning some media even pointed to sentimental reasons. And after several weeks of intrigue and scandals – such as the poorly edited photograph – Prince William’s own wife has explained with these words what is happening to her.

However, it is still up in the air whether she is the person who appears in the photos that have been published in recent days and about which public opinion argued that they were montages.

In short, Kate has sent a message of calm, explaining that, despite the circumstances, she is fine, and has asked for respect for her privacy while she heals from this illness. The type of cancer she suffers from has not been revealed, at the moment.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was one of the first to react to this news. In a message on social media, he stated that the princess has shown “tremendous bravery” and her thoughts are with the royal family, “particularly with her three children at this difficult time.”

Sunak has assured that Kate Middleton “has the love and support of the entire country as she continues her recovery. “I know I speak on behalf of the entire country in wishing her a full and speedy recovery and I hope to see her back in action when she is ready,” she stated in an official message.

“In recent weeks, she has come under intense scrutiny and been treated unfairly by certain sections of the media around the world and on social media,” Sunak added.
