We mow with a scythe – don’t start the engine for every blade of grass

Where I’ve been in action, the grass is actually shorter than before. However, it doesn’t look like it was mowed by hand, but rather as if a lot of people had trampled through it. Things are far better with my colleagues. And there is a reason for that: They are mostly people from the Villach City Gardens Office who are doing the course as professional training. “We want to mow areas healthily and gently, instead of mowing everything down straight away,” says their boss Wolfgang Faller, who was even in Zurich, Switzerland, with his team, where the idea is already a concept. And they do it really well, but I was exposed as a desk worker by the course teacher when assembling the scythe.
