A recent new study has revealed that timing is a key factor in weight loss. In this study, some people were given a strict diet and allowed to exercise 150 minutes a week.

All of them lost 2.4 kg in the 14-week study. They also reported lower blood pressure and more positive feelings. An important point to note in this study is that they finished their dinner by 3pm. For us it’s lunch, but the experts who conducted this study called it dinner.

Experts from the University of Alabama at Birmingham have conducted this study. This can also be called ‘intermittent fasting’. Eat small portions of food for 8 hours a day. Do not take any food afterwards. It helps in weight loss. Intermittent fasting is usually between 12 noon and 8 pm. But in this study they were allowed to take food from 7 am to 3 pm. Metabolism is higher in the morning which burns calories at a faster rate. In this way, the total 214 calories consumed daily will be burnt.

However, following the diet is not that easy, the study says. Some people may take food when they are hungry. So experts say that eating between 12 noon and 8 pm will keep such appetite under control.
