WhatsApp Launches One-Time View for Voice Messages
Two years after the initial launch of the one-time view feature for photos and videos, WhatsApp has now extended the option to include voice messages as well. This new feature is aimed at enhancing user privacy and preventing the saving or recording of these messages.
With the one-time view feature, users can send photos, videos, and now voice messages that can only be viewed once. Once the message has been opened and listened to, it disappears and cannot be accessed again. This added layer of protection is designed to give users more control over their communications within the app.
The one-time voice messages will be marked with a special symbol in the app, similar to the one-time view for photos and videos. Additionally, the voice messages will benefit from end-to-end encryption, ensuring that they are secure and private.
WhatsApp announced the new feature on Twitter, stating, “say it once, play it once ☝️ now you can select ‘view once’ when sending a voice note for an added layer of protection.”
Similar to other recent updates, the ability to send one-time view voice messages will gradually become available to users over the next few days.
