Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia achieved a historic record after achieving the longest series of victories in all tournaments in history, following its victory over its rival, Al-Ittihad, in the AFC Champions League.

Al Hilal defeated its counterpart Al-Ittihad 2-0 in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, setting up a fiery match with Al-Ain of the United Arab Emirates in the semi-finals.
Al Hilal reached its 28th consecutive victory in all official tournaments (the Saudi League, the AFC Champions League, and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup).
Al Hilal became the first team in history to achieve this long series of victories, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
The leader broke the previous record, which was set by the Welsh New Saints (27 victories) in the 2016-2017 season.
Al Hilal surpassed a number of giants to reach the top of the list, most notably Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Ajax.
