First Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism Alexander Dorohovich commented on Thursday’s meeting with Lukashenko on the state of affairs in Belarusian sports, but something went wrong.
«[Лукашенко] Once again he says obvious things that we ourselves should understand and implement a long time ago. Unfortunately, some people locally may not have heard this yet. We must raise our guys, and they must achieve success. State resources are allocated in abundance for this,” Vitbichi quotes Alexander Dorohovich.
Then Alexander Dorohovich decided to draw parallels between the training of Belarusian and foreign athletes.
“Today, if you compare Belarus and some countries that actively criticize us, then there is no money allocated there, including for football. Players (in unfriendly countries – NN) work and train in their free time.”
“They also go to competitions for their own money. And at the same time, sometimes they show better results than our athletes, who are fully supported by the state,” the deputy minister came to an unexpected conclusion.
