Tonight is the day …
On Tuesday (September 14th) Apple will be presenting new products at 7 p.m.! Due to the corona, the company will again only show one video and not show the new devices in front of an audience in the Steve Jobs Theater at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino (US state California). Accordingly, the motto of the virtual event is: “California Streaming”.

As usual, Apple has not yet revealed what exactly will be seen on Tuesday. The rumors are clear, however: the new generation of Apple’s iPhone, a new Apple Watch and possibly also updated versions of the iPad and iPad Mini can be expected.
Four iPhone models expected
the Internet rumors assume a total of four different iPhone models with three different screen sizes (5.4 / 6.1 / 6.7 inches).
That would correspond to the sizes of the current series with the iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 and 12 Pro as well as the Pro Max. However, the screens could for the first time have a higher refresh rate of 120 Hertz.
In terms of design, the four iPhones shouldn’t differ that much from the devices of the 12 generation. However, it is conceivable that the recess in the screen (“notch”) for cameras and sensors will be slightly smaller than before.
The first protective covers for the upcoming Apple cell phones, for example from the online retailer Arktis.de according to their own information already in stock indicate a further change. It can be seen in the case that the recess for the camera of the Pro models is significantly larger than before.
In fact, there have been rumors of new functions for iPhone cameras for months. So it should be a portrait mode for video filming in which the background blur can be adjusted afterwards.
In addition, there is speculation about an astro photo mode, with which very long exposure times for photographing the moon and stars should be possible. It is conceivable that these improvements are reserved for the Pro models – the protective covers indicate this.

And what else will be in the iPhones? Analyst and Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo has, according to the blog Macrumors published a report that the next iPhone can make calls via satellite. In emergencies, you could call for help or send and receive SMS where conventional cellular networks have dead spots.
Of course, an updated processor should also be built into the new iPhones – the successor to the current A14 chip allegedly produced since May and should be called A15 Bionic.
It is also conceivable that the iPhone will have a fingerprint sensor under the touchscreen. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted two years ago that in 2021, in addition to the FaceID face recognition, Apple will also bring the TouchID fingerprint sensor back to the iPhone, which will then be located under the display glass.
Apple-Insider Mark Gurman repeated the rumor earlier this year: Allegedly Apple was testing the sensor under the glass of the screen. It remains to be seen whether it will make it into the iPhone 13.
The iPhone 13 will be offered for the first time with a storage version of one terabyte capacity, reports various sources, including most recently the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. How this will affect the price is still unclear.
Apple Watch, AirPods, iPads
In addition to the new iPhones, the new Apple Watch Series 7 will also be presented. Apple insider Mark Gurman expects a change in the design. The smartwatch could have a flatter, possibly larger display: Speculations have been made about 41 or 45 millimeters of side length instead of the 40 or 44 millimeters customary up to now.
Gurman also predicts a new design for the entry-level wireless headphones, the AirPods 3, which should be based on the more expensive AirPods Pro. However, the in-ear plugs should not have active noise suppression.
The design of the iPad Mini is also to be significantly revised, for whose sixth generation Gurman expects thinner edges around the screen. It is also conceivable that the housing is adapted to the angular housing of the iPad Air.
And finally, the ninth generation of the entry-level iPad will also be thinner and more powerful.
Which of the rumors will come true in the end will be revealed on September 14th from 7pm! BILD then reports on all innovations in a live ticker.
