Al-Marsad newspaper: A new study conducted by a team of scientists from the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London revealed a disease that affects people who have overcome severe infection with the Corona virus.
The study found that patients who beat the Corona virus suffer from the same cognitive impairment that people generally experience between the ages of 50 and 70.
The results indicated that there is evidence that the Corona virus causes permanent cognitive and mental health problems, as patients who have recovered still suffer from symptoms months after infection, according to the “Sky News” website.
The scientists said the symptoms they reported include fatigue, brain fog, problems remembering words, sleep disturbances, anxiety and even post-traumatic stress disorder.
A previous study in Britain confirmed that 1 in 7 individuals reported symptoms including cognitive difficulties 12 weeks after testing positive for the Corona virus.
