jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Association of Indonesian Bottled Drinking Water Companies (ASPADIN) takes waste management seriously as the responsibility of producers.
This is because the General Chair of ASPADIN, Rachmat Hidayat, believes that Indonesia is already in the waste emergency stage.
This was conveyed by Rachmat in the Seminar on Dissemination of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation (Permen) Number 75 of 2019 concerning the Roadmap for Waste Reduction by Producers, at the recent commemoration of National Waste Awareness Day (HPSN 2024).
“Efforts to reduce waste require contributions from various parties, including producers,” said Rachmat as quoted in Jakarta, Friday (22/3).
Rachmat said producers have a responsibility to help meet the government’s waste reduction targets as part of preserving the environment.
According to Rachmat, waste reduction cannot be done by the government alone but requires contributions from various parties, including producers.
“This event is one of our efforts from associations and business actors to help the government,” he said.
Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation Number 75 of 2019 was implemented to achieve the target of reducing waste by producers by 30 percent compared to the amount of waste generated in 2029. The regulation is aimed at business actors from 3 sectors, namely manufacturing, retail and services as well as food and beverages.
The Association of Indonesian Bottled Drinking Water Companies (ASPADIN) takes waste management seriously as the responsibility of producers.
