Elections are scheduled for the 19th in 15 wards under the Gummidipoondi municipality. Following this, yesterday, in the presence of the Returning Officer Yamuna, the work of affixing the names and symbols of the candidates on the voting machines was carried out.
In each ward, in the presence of the concerned candidates, the recording machines were checked and a list containing the candidate’s name and symbol was affixed. As planned, all the candidates went to the polls to collect votes. Thus, most of the candidates did not come to the Municipal Office. The task of fitting the candidate list in the recording machine was completed by keeping the candidates and agents who came to the office without any other option.
