When you first install Firefox Linux, on at least some distributions you notice that videos won’t play. Unless you install firefox directly from Firefox web, so usually a component is missing. The “h264 Codec”, which comes installed and statically compiled in downloaded versions of Firefox.
I am one of those who think that they should be compiled statically like this in the distributions, as it comes in Firefox or Chrome. But it is very easy to fix.
Use the equivalent command in your distribution.
You can search for the video codec “h264” or if you already know them, directly “mozilla-openh264”
yum -y install mozilla-openh264.x86_64
Once the process is done, you can enjoy videos as normal.
