by time news

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko signed an agreement on cooperation between business and the state on the implementation of road maps for high-tech areas, including artificial intelligence (AI). According to Mr. Chernyshenko, more than 52% of Russian large organizations implement AI in their activities. The volume of the market of AI technologies by 2030 should increase at least to 20 billion rubles, twice, the vice-premier noted.

“According to the developers of the road map, the contribution of this sector to Russia’s GDP by 2025 could be up to 2%. As part of the ”road map”, it is planned to create more than 60 promising technological solutions. Their effectiveness will be assessed by the increase in the volume of the Russian market of AI technologies — by 2030 it should be at least 20 billion rubles, that is, it will increase at least twice,” Mr. Chernyshenko said to TASS in the office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

The government agreement was signed with Sberbank, with RDIF Management Company and NTI Platform. The documents were signed as part of the implementation of the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin dated November 24. It concerned the mass introduction of artificial intelligence in various spheres of life. The head of state said that AI should cover all sectors of the economy, the social sphere and the public administration system.

After the start of the military operation in Ukraine, many projects related to the development of AI faced a lack of funding due to the departure of foreign investors. In April 2022, the Russian government announced state support in the amount of more than 17 billion rubles, which companies developing AI can receive by 2024. Before the industry crisis, it was planned to allocate 5 billion rubles for these measures. At the end of July, the Russian government announced the allocation of 575 million rubles. for a professional development program for specialists who are engaged in the development of artificial intelligence.
