Yesterday, Frontier Developments announced Elite Dangerous that it has canceled all future content and updates for PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
The game hasn’t been pulled offline, but a growing number of fans are now deciding it’s time to dock for good. Many have shared stories of their time with the long-distance space sim, as well as screenshots of their final destinations, as they bid farewell to their sad galactic journeys.
He wrote, “The Final Station. They were real leaders. You have been a wonderful community to be a part of. Time to retire this Xbox player,” Jay Jones 5509 wrote on reddit.
CMDR_Prestopia The Elite Dangerous community thanked the “experience like no other”, but the latest announcement means their time in the galaxy is “ending”.
“I want to thank this entire community for being the absolute best. Run to The View to park my ship and retire. o7.”
96- Ayed shared a recent screenshot with fellow Elite Dangerous fans, saying, “Colonia will be my permanent docking station. It was fun o7.”
Abdul Majeed Abdul Majeed 161 also shared a series of snapshots of the galaxy. They wrote, “Farewell and o7 from this PS4 player.”
Others, like __Wall of Iron__, hoped that account transfers would become a thing in the future while saying, “Noriega Port has been my main stop for 5 years. Now is where I will retire my Xbox Commander. o7 Pilots”.
Meanwhile, Kinvictus ended on a more upbeat note, wishing everyone a “happy new start” on PC. They wrote: “My final screenshot on the console (XBONE/XSX). They were real leaders.”
