The developer of telecom equipment Ericsson suspends deliveries to Russia, a company representative told Vedomosti. The decision was made against the backdrop of sanctions against Russia due to the crisis in Ukraine.

“Ericsson is urgently reviewing the imposed sanctions. The company has decided to suspend all deliveries to customers in Russia while we are reviewing,” a company spokesman said. He stressed that the company cannot yet say how economic sanctions against Russia may affect Ericsson.

Ericsson is a Swedish company headquartered in Stockholm. Cooperation with this equipment manufacturer was reported at various times by the largest Russian telecom operators. In particular, in 2020, MTS announced cooperation with the company. The parties signed an agreement “on the deployment of 5G-ready equipment and Ericsson solutions for a large-scale modernization of the 2G / 3G / 4G MTS network,” the Russian company reported. And in 2019, the Swedish company announced the delivery of a batch of equipment for radio relay communication to the operator’s network to MegaFon.
