Nine master classes with speakers from abroad and a special “Prosecco Hall” during Whiskey, Rum & Wine 2024
500 premium class whiskey and rum labels, a selection of over 300 wines from around the world and dozens of premieres for visitors to the fest on April 19 and 20
Five extremely rare collectible bottles of whiskey will be presented during the Whiskey, Rum & Wine 2024 festival. The event will be held in Sofia on April 19 and 20 with the participation of 50 exhibitors of over 500 premium class whiskey and rum labels and a selection of over 300 wines from around the world.
The organizers will offer Bulgarian connoisseurs and investors exclusive access to valuable finds that are difficult to find even on international markets.
The five so-called Old&Rare investment bottles -GLENFARCLAS 50YO, MACALLAN 35YO, GLEN GRANT 50YO, GLEN MHOR 50YO, KING OF SCOTS 50YO were distilled in limited batches in the 20th century, and some of the distilleries they came from no longer even they exist. They will be offered at prices that reach BGN 20,000.
“It is an honor for us to provide this rare opportunity to Bulgarian connoisseurs and investors. In recent years, a community with high literacy in relation to premium drinks and a serious level of understanding both of the collector value of such bottles and of the possibility of their being considered as a long-term financial investment is gradually forming in our country”, explain the organizers. And they add, that from the very beginning the event’s mission is to build a culture of consumption and an attitude towards premium drinks among more and more Bulgarians by sharing knowledge and a quality experience with like-minded people and friends.
As part of this philosophy, Whisky, Rum & Wine 2024 will host nine masterclasses led entirely by world-renowned foreign speakers, owners and global brand ambassadors. They will cover different topics and types of drinks. It is expected that the Bulgarian public will have the opportunity for an exclusive meeting with the legendary Scottish island of Isla, known as the “cradle of peat scotch” and the tenth ARDNAHOE distillery in the person of the owners from the Leng family.
The legendary Champagne AYALA, whose history dates back to 1860, will also be presented in Sofia. It was among the favorite drinks of the stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood, with collector bottles still bearing the autographs of Frank Sinatra and six-time Oscar-nominated actress Deborah Carr .
During Whiskey, Rum & Wine 2024 there will also be premieres of drinks that the public will be able to taste exclusively for the first time in Bulgaria. Among them is the most popular premium grain Korean whiskey HWAYO (the name comes from the words “fire” and “noble”), which is produced using a special technology from rice and follows a 700-year-old tradition. Visitors will be able to purchase a limited amount of the drink , which comes in a stylish bottle with an image of a golden dragon.
For the first time, a separate “Prosecco Hall” dedicated to the increasingly popular Bubbles wines category will be set aside within the event. In it, 12 exhibitors will offer visitors the opportunity to try different brands of Prosecco, champagne and other sparkling wines. place will also be presented the rapidly growing Zero category of wines in our country and around the world – without alcohol, without sugar, without artificial colors and additives and with low calorie content.
