Food education very important for good health

by time news

How do tomatoes grow? Which is healthier: steaming or boiling vegetables? Questions that the majority of the Dutch find difficult to answer, while food skills and nutritional knowledge are the basis for good health. Maastricht University reports this.

Although there are various causes for the development of overweight, an unhealthy diet plays an important role. A combination of a too low intake of fruit and vegetables, the regular consumption of takeaway meals, the lack of cooking skills and the increased portion sizes contribute to the increased degree of overweight. Our lack of time and attention for nutrition not only affects our own health, but also that of our children. Overweight and obesity are not only increasing among adults, but this is also the case among children.
