What if it was enough for us to observe living things, from plants to animals, by revising our judgments, by moving away from our prejudices about nature and evolution (including human)? How do we connect to the living things within us and around us?

Let’s revisit all our preconceived ideas about (including) human nature. No, nature is not well made, to live is not to be autonomous but to establish links in good interdependence. What if we opened our eyes to living things, all the living things that surround us: animals, plants, bacteria, fungi. Why and how do their observation and study invite us to another understanding of the world and another way of inhabiting the earth?

With Marc-André Selosseprofessor at the National Museum of Natural History, his research focuses on associations with mutual benefits (symbioses), for his new work Nature and prejudices, inviting humanity into natural history, published by Actes Sud.
