In their hotel, the world champion, now defender of Troyes in Ligue 1, stood out by causing the evacuation of the entire hotel. The fire alarm was triggered by his fault, after using a fire extinguisher, during a turbulent evening after the crazy victory of the France team against Argentina (4-3). An episode which obviously remembers very well Raphaël Varane.
Present this Sunday at a press conference, after the victory of the Blues against Denmark (2-1) ensuring their qualification for the round of 16, the Manchester United defender took advantage of a fire alarm, not far from the hall of press, to echo the behavior of Adil Rami in 2018. “This time it’s not Adil Rami, I promise you”, joked the central defender of the France team in front of a group of visibly hilarious journalists too.
After a few tens of seconds of interruption, the alarm stopped and the press conference was able to end without any problem. Raphaël Varane notably indicated that he was “not 100% yet”, but assured that he was going to “rise in power during the competition”. In the process, Théo Hernandez succeeded him at the microphones. The AC Milan left defender returned to his role, which is a little different from the one he has at the club. “I can’t ride all the time,” explained Lucas Hernandez’s brother. After this conference, the two players will join the training of the Blues.
