TRENTO. According to the most recent data, referring to December 2023, the total of Bank loans in Trentino Alto Adige amount to 43.8 billion euros. The businesses were financed with over 27.5 billion euros and families with over 13.6 billion.

The overall state of the local economy and credit in the region was presented during an extraordinary joint session between the Abi Bolzano Regional Commission, chaired by Robert Zampieriand the Abi Trento regional commissionchaired by Giorgio Fracalossiin the presence of the general director of the Abi, Giovanni Sabatini.

Gross bad debts stood at 353 million euros (equal to 0.8% of total loans). Deposits from customers exceeded 49.9 billion, a sign – underlines a note – of the constant confidence of savers. As regards the total loans to the regional economy, equal to 43.8 billion euros, approximately 18.5 billion euros were allocated to Trento of which 10.9 billion to businesses and 6.5 to families. In Trentino, gross bad debts stood at 186 million euros (equal to 1.0% of total loans). With around 21.9 billion, the level of deposits remains considerable. Loans in Bolzano amounted to approximately 25.3 billion euros overall, of which 16.7 to businesses and over 7.1 to families. In terms of risk, gross bad debts stood at 167 million euros (equal to 0.7% of total loans). The amount of deposits is significant with over 28 billion. Based on the most recent data, relating to 2023, the SME guarantee fund recorded in Trentino Alto Adige 2,967 operations (2,057 in Trento and 910 in Bolzano), activating over 817 million euros in new financing (446.6 million in Trento and 370.8 million in Bolzano) with particular reference to agricultural crops and animal production, manufacturing of metal products, construction of buildings and specialized construction work, wholesale and retail trade, accommodation services, food service activities, land and pipeline transport.
