Scenes of actor Surya tearing down a banner and setting it on fire near Chidambaram have gone viral on social media.

Jaybeam, starring Surya, was released on November 2. Adapted from a true story, Jaybeam focuses on the story of Justice Chandru, who effectively defended a tribal woman when she was a lawyer in the 90’s. The film was directed by TC Gnanavell. The film, which exposes the plight of the dark-skinned people and the abuses of the police, deliberately insulted the Vanni community by giving real names to all the characters and caused the biggest scandal by pointing the symbol of the Vanniyar Sangam Agnikunda at the house of the culprit by naming only the late Vanniyar Sangam leader Guru as the culprit.

Following the release of the Jaybeam movie starring actor Surya and the controversy that ensued, unfortunate incidents have been taking place in some places. In this situation, in the village of Chendrakillai near Chidambaram in Cuddalore district, some youths from that town tore the Jaybeam movie banner of actor Surya and set it on fire and the video footage has gone viral on social media. In it, they tear down the Surya image banner, put it down, pour petrol on it and set it on fire. Then put a bomb on top of it and explode. These scenes are spreading virally on social websites. Parangipettai police are investigating the matter.
