The deal included an upfront payment plus future payments if the German company reaches commercial goals set by Novo, but despite this, the company did not specify how much of the amount will be paid now and how much of it will come in a future payment. The deal comes a few weeks after the pharmaceutical giant received FDA approval for an anti-obesity drug called “Wegovy”, which allows for treatment to reduce the risk of heart attacks, and is now gaining another foothold in the industry.
