Peskov: Gazprom fulfills all obligations on gas supplies to Europe

by time news

“Gazprom” fully fulfills all its obligations on gas supplies to Europe, while the company is ready to transport even more, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov on the air of the TV channel “Russia 1”.

“Is it possible to take more gas from Gazprom and pump it in? You can, Gazprom is ready. Moreover, he has already selected all additional applications. Fully fulfills its obligations. No one has absolutely any complaints, and there cannot be. Is Gazprom ready to conclude contracts further? Gazprom is interested in this, ”he said.

European consumers remain the main partners, and Gazprom “under any circumstances always proves its reliability,” added Peskov. The demands of the American side to increase gas pumping through the territory of “Ukraine”, in his opinion, are “propaganda with a minus sign.”

On September 21, the International Energy Agency (IEA) called on Russia to increase gas exports to Europe to replenish fuel reserves in European underground storage facilities. They noted that Moscow is fulfilling its supply obligations, but its exports have decreased compared to the level of 2019. The IEA believes that Russia could do more to increase the availability of gas on the European market on the eve of the heating season, which, according to the agency, kept the country’s reputation as a reliable supplier.

On the same day, the US State Department announced a possible shortage of gas in Europe for heating in winter if the weather is colder than usual. In response, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Russia fulfills all contractual obligations for gas supplies to Europe, and it is impossible to increase fuel transit until it is sold, that is, to increase supplies, there must be a corresponding demand from European consumers.
