Although there have been several attempts to break this in recent decades, Visegrad cooperation is still alive, and the participating countries have a common interest in maintaining it in the future, Péter Szijjártó announced on Thursday in Prague.
According to the ministry’s statement, the head of the ministry emphasized at the joint press conference following the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Visegrad states (V4) that it is in Hungary’s national interest to preserve the Central European cooperation.
In recent decades, there have been many attempts from the outside to break this cooperation, pressure is still felt, but regardless of all this and regardless of the fact that we may represent a different approach to the question of how peace should be created in Ukraine, the V4 is still working and has a common interest and intention also the maintenance of this

Péter Szijjártó emphasized that the cooperation of the four Central European states has so far proven to be effective in terms of protecting the sovereignty of the participants, in overcoming the federalist intentions of the European Union, and that cooperation will remain essential in the future.
According to his words, this cooperation is also extremely important in the field of action against mass illegal migration, because the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia still insist on their right to determine who they let into their borders, who they want to live with and who they don’t.
He emphasized that the Visegrád countries are not willing to give up their sovereignty even when it comes to the composition of the national energy mix, and are acting together against negative discrimination against nuclear energy.
He pointed out that, according to the V4, tax policy should also remain a national competence. He also mentioned that the participants will continue to stand up for the interests of domestic farmers in the EU.
