The director of the National Police, General William Salamanca, spoke about the location of two leaders of the FARC dissidents, Iván Mordisco and Iván Márquez, confirming that both are currently in Colombian territory.
In statements to the media, General Salamanca pointed out that, although not can specify the exact location of alias Mordisco, he did confirm his presence in Colombia. Furthermore, he claimed to have specific information about the presence of Iván Márquez in the country.
«Regarding the location of alias Mordisco, we know that it is in Colombian territory, we cannot mention where it is. These statements arise in a context of tensions after the murder of the indigenous leader Carmelina Yule Paví in the municipality of Toribío, Cauca, which caused the breakdown of dialogue with the Mordisco dissidents and the lifting of the ceasefire in the departments of Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño.
