Commissioner of Elections RMAS Ratnayake assured that even if Parliament is dissolved by President Ranil Wickramasinghe, the presidential election will definitely be held at the appropriate time.
He also said that since the parliamentary elections have to be held, there will be no impact on the conduct of the presidential election.
Election within time limits
He emphasized that as per the Election Commission, the presidential election should be held first and since the 10 billion rupees requested by the commission has been allocated from the finance ministry, the election will be held within the due time.
He further mentioned that the presidential election will be held from September 17 to October 17 and we will make an announcement about it in July or August.
