Kolkata: Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee requested President Draupadi Murmu to save the country’s constitution from a disaster. Mamata’s remarks were made at a meeting to receive Draupadi Murmu, who was visiting Bengal. Mamata welcomed the President by addressing her as ‘Golden Lady’.
“Madam President, you are the constitutional head of this country. I request you to protect the constitution of this country and the fundamental rights of the poor people of the country. I am requesting to save the Constitution from a disaster,” said Mamata Banerjee.
Mamata also mentioned in her speech that the country has a tradition of living together for many generations. The President thanked the people of Bengal for the welcome he received. The President arrived in Bengal on a two-day visit.
