Berlin There he sits, the highly decorated scientist, in the courtyard of a posh Italian in Berlin-Mitte and looks anxiously at his smartphone. This is good news for Lars Feld: he can participate in pop star Taylor Swift’s ticket presale.
Feld is actually not a “Swiftie”, as fans of the US artist call themselves. Rather, the Freiburg economist is obsessed with concerts. Most recently he attended the jazz festival in Montreux on Lake Geneva, this weekend Bruce Springsteen is on the agenda in Munich.
But an even more important role for Feld is played by a person whose musical work is limited to a few appearances at carnival meetings: Christian Lindner, head of the Federal Ministry of Finance, which is right across the street.
