The ABC Culture Classroom dedicates its new session to the friendship between two of the great geniuses of Spanish culture of the 20th century: Camilo José Cela and Pablo Picasso. Camilo José Cela Conde, son of the Nobel Prize winner, and Rafael Inglada, the artist’s biographer, will talk with Carlos Aganzo about the topic. The event will be held this Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, and can be followed by streaming.
The friendship between the two geniuses began on August 1, 1958, when Cela traveled to Cannes with the intention of proposing to Picasso to dedicate a monographic issue of the magazine ‘Papeles de Son Armadans’ to him. The first interview between the writer and the painter had its difficulties. However, from there a long relationship arose, which led to new meetings and an extraordinary correspondence.
