The law on digital archives, on which work will begin in the autumn session, will allow banks to completely abandon paper contracts with clients, Anatoly Aksakov, head of the lower house committee on the financial market, said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.

“We want to pass a law according to which all information will be stored on media. True, it should be duplicated so that there are no risks of loss. There will be no need to buy paper in huge quantities. This is a huge savings, a reduction in costs, ”he said.

According to him, the transition to electronic media will allow banks to save billions of dollars annually. The Bank of Russia told the publication that electronic document management, which banks will be able to switch to thanks to the new law, will reduce the cost of storing and processing paper documents.
